Multilevel Approach for Management of Existing Bridges: Critical Analysis and Application of the Italian Guidelines with the New Operating Instructions

This paper provides a discussion and thoughtful application on large sample of the procedures for classification existing bridges recently adopted in Italy defined within Italian Guidelines classification, risk management, safety evaluation monitoring early published Operating Instructions. Focusing at territorial level, first logic flows to base structural are shown, resulting definition “structural warning class”, providing motivations that support criteria such procedures. Then, statistical analysis results obtained from 661 is performed, focusing vulnerability influence each parameter its evaluation.
